About the Community
Lakeshore Co-op is proud to serve Hay River, NT, known as the “Hub of the North.” Located on the south shore of Great Slave Lake at the mouth of the Hay River, the community is a key crossroads for the South Slave region and a welcoming place where cultures, traditions, and northern lifestyles meet.

History
Formerly the Yellowknife Direct Charge Co-op, the organization rebranded to Lakeshore Co-op in 2025 to reflect a broader service area across the shores of Great Slave Lake. That same year, the Co-op officially expanded into Hay River through the acquisition of Super A Foods on May 15, 2025, bringing cooperative ownership to the community.

What the Co-op Provides
Lakeshore Co-op in Hay River offers groceries, household goods, and everyday essentials tailored to northern living. Beyond the shelves, the Co-op creates local jobs, invests in staff, and returns profits to Members and the community.
