Arctic Co-operatives assigned a seat on the Board of Directors for Chrono Aviation
February 4, 2020
The sky is not the limit! Arctic Co-operatives Limited (Arctic Co-ops) and Chrono Aviation (Chrono) are proud to announce that they have entered into an agreement that will see Arctic Co-ops make a significant investment in Chrono and have an assigned seat on the Board of Directors. With new Inuit/Indigenous ownership, Chrono Aviation is poised to reinforce and expand its air charter business in Quebec, Nunavut and beyond.
Since 1972, Arctic Co-ops has provided air transportation services to the Arctic, always by choosing the air carrier best positioned to meet the needs of the community. This approach was applied to a significant long-term contract opportunity with Baffinland Iron Mines, and Chrono was chosen as the best service provider to meet the unique requirements of the Mary River Project. This process revealed to the two organizations that they have many shared values and complementary capabilities. Arctic Co-op Board President, Kono Tattuinee said “Serving remote Arctic Communities, we understand the importance of safe and reliable air transportation. We are proud of what our Co-ops have built together and now economic benefits of commercial activity in southern Canada will benefit Co-op Members in the north.”
This investment will see the addition of another Boeing 737 to the fleet and the addition of a state-of-the art hangar and maintenance facility adjacent to the existing LUX Airport Terminal in St. Hubert, Quebec. These new assets, coupled with Chrono’s long-standing commitment to safety and customer service, will enable the company to offer expanded service to new and existing clients. Chrono President Vincent Gagnon said; “Chrono has seen rapid growth thanks to a great team and loyal clients. We are very proud to have the confidence of an established and capable partner such as Arctic Co-operatives to help grow Chrono Aviation’s charter business.”
Arctic Co-ops and Chrono are exhibiting together at the Northern Lights Tradeshow in Ottawa February 6-8, 2020 in Booths 525, 527, 529 & 531 and we invite anyone who may be attending the show to come see us and spin our prize wheel.
